Welcome to Sewn by Request, which as our name says, we create things for you based on your preferences.
This venture all started serendipitously. I decided to throw a surprise birthday party for my husband. I had this idea for a gift of creating a wonderful dress shirt for the occasion. I have been sewing since I was 11 years old, but there were a lot of years when I never touched the sewing machine or only did repairs. This new shirt was a hit, to say the least. My husband loved it, wore it to the party and our host, a friend who allowed us to use the party room at their condo, was so impressed that he eventually ordered 9 shirts, and hence this was born. Creating things and designing things is my passion. I am an “A” type and a perfectionist. I have high standards for myself and my creations.

Our new venture is expanding into creating upscale, high-end tote bags made of beautiful fabrics with leather handles and bottoms, high-end accessory “bling” detail zippers, metal feet under the bags, etc. We will be creating a number of these items which will be posted on our Tote Bag gallery page.
We will also be offering interesting, durable and useful economy tote bags made of cotton canvas for your every day needs.
